Sierra Claeson, MA, Certified Christian Counselor

I’m Sierra Claeson, MA, a Mental Health Coach with The Balanced Coach, and I’ve spent over ten years supporting people who feel overwhelmed, caught in old patterns, or unsure of their next steps. I hold a degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, giving me a deep understanding of how our thoughts, habits, and relationships shape the way we show up in life. In coaching, my focus is on helping you see what’s getting in your way, gain clarity, and take practical steps toward change that actually sticks.

I work closely with clients to figure out what’s holding them back, prioritize what matters most, and turn insight into action. Together, we explore ways to build healthier boundaries, create habits that support your well-being, and make choices that align with your values. Whether you’re navigating a big life change, dealing with recurring challenges, or just looking for more balance and confidence, I partner with you to create a plan that’s realistic, actionable, and tailored to you.

I bring a grounded, supportive, and approachable style — asking thoughtful questions, helping you reflect honestly, and guiding you toward more self-trust, clarity, and confidence. My coaching draws on evidence-based strategies and is grounded in faith, offering a values-centered approach that turns insight into meaningful, lasting change.

I look forward to supporting you as you create lasting transformation.

Calm the Chaos by Dayna Abraham is one of my go-to recommendations for parents who feel like they've tried everything. Dayna offers a refreshingly practical and compassionate framework that helps you truly understand what's driving your child's most difficult behaviors, so you can stop reacting and start connecting. Whether your kid struggles with big emotions, defiance, or just seems wired differently, this book gives you a real road map instead of more advice that doesn't stick.

Parenting by Paul David Tripp is a book I recommend for parents who want to root their approach to family life firmly in the Gospel. Tripp reminds us that we are not the authors of our children's stories, God is, and that frees us from the pressure of parenting out of fear or pride. With 14 grace-filled principles drawn straight from Scripture, this book gently challenges and encourages parents to see their role as a calling, not just a responsibility. If you want your home to be shaped by faith from the inside out, this is an essential read.

When Faith Meets Psychology by Aaron J. Bellridge is a book I recommend for clients who have ever felt like they had to choose between their faith and getting real mental health support. Bellridge bridges that gap beautifully, offering a Christ-centered approach to understanding and overcoming anxiety, burnout, ADHD, and depression. This book validates the struggle while keeping God at the center of the healing process, a combination that is hard to find and deeply needed.

Rewire Your Anxious Brain by Catherine Pittman and Elizabeth Karle is one of my favorite recommendations for clients who want to truly understand what is happening in their brain when anxiety takes over. Pittman breaks down the neuroscience of fear in a way that is surprisingly easy to grasp, showing you exactly how the amygdala and cortex play different roles in your anxiety response, and more importantly, how to work with your brain instead of fighting against it. Understanding the "why" behind anxiety is often the first step toward real change, and this book delivers that in a practical, empowering way.

Fight Right by Drs. Julie and John Gottman is a book I recommend for couples who love each other but keep getting stuck in the same exhausting arguments. Drawing on decades of research, the Gottman's show that conflict in a relationship isn't the problem, it's how you fight that makes or breaks the connection. This book gives couples concrete, research-backed tools to turn their most heated moments into opportunities for deeper understanding and intimacy. If you're tired of feeling like you're on opposite teams, this is the book that helps you find your way back to the same side.
